Anything that involves the word “homemade” puts me in a panic. So, when I received an Evite to go to a friend’s house for a Stampin Up! party, I immediately started trying to figure out reasons to decline. Unfortunately for me, the hostess is one of the nicest people I know, so I couldn’t bring myself to make up an excuse, and just told her the truth: I have the cutting and pasting skills of a 5-year-old, so sorry, this isn’t my thing. Being the lovely person she is, she emailed me back to tell me it’s really easy, and to just come and check it out.
So, I did. Reluctantly. Secretly hoping the party would be canceled by a large hail storm, freak earthquake, or worldwide disaster.
At first, I was as clumsy as usual, trying to figure out all the gadgets that punch out shapes and stick them to the cards. But, it only took a couple of tries to get the hang of it, and by the end I felt like a true blue Martha Stewart in the making. So now I have a couple of beautiful handmade cards to send to some friends and a new found sense of creativity.
So get out there and try something new! You may be surprised at what you can do.

That’s great that you gave it a try Erin.
I had a similar circumstance a few months back now I’m trying to scrapbook with my daughter. We made a few “Thank You” cards for her friends too. It’s really fun!
I am not a fan of anything real crafty either. I have bought some stamps and I even one year made our christmas cards. But I just don’t enjoy it. So I completely understand!

Anne and Danielle: Well, I have yet to put the cards together! I REALLY want to, though. But, I might have to wait until my blogging internship is over. I have no extra time right now!
