…or a bucket, actually. A puke bucket. This picture was taken before school so he looks nice and happy.
Yep! My son threw up on the last day of school (actually a Mommies Day Out program which totally kept me sane). On the first day of school, he was bitten by a rabid kid. I sure hope this isn’t an omen of school years to come.
For the past 3 days, I’ve been trying to teach him to puke in a bucket instead of on me… or on the couch… or on the rug…or on the cats. I was successful only about 70% of the time. My house may smell permanently like Resolve, but I’m fine with that, because that’s WAY better than smelling like puke
Big mommy-in-progress mistake: Taking my son to school when he slept in and didn’t want to eat a thing at breakfast. Do you think that might have been a clue that he was sick?
I was thinking I would have plenty of time to come back to his school and take tons of pictures and say long good-byes, but I only got a few pics and a quick hug because I was worried he’d throw up again (the teachers had given him a chocolate cupcake after he threw up…um…thanks! Luckily, we got home before that came back up).
Even with the sucky last day of school, I cried as we said good-bye. I know it’s totally weird, but whenever I say good-bye to someone who I may never see again, even if it’s a co-worker that was difficult or a random person like the cashier at my favorite restaurant, I get emotional. This person has been a part of my life, good or bad, and it just seems so sad that I may never see them EVER again. I may never see those teachers or cute little kids EVER again because we’re going to another program next year. So sad.
I’m sure I was the only mom who cried and had a kid throw up on the last day of school. But, that’s me!
Now that we’ve had a puke-free 24-hours, I can get caught up on my internship and FINALLY write on my blog. Which is very new as you might have seen, so if you’re reading this…
THANK YOU!
I’m trying to figure out this blogging thing as quickly as possible, so I’m doing a blogging internship at Moms Talk Network, which has been both amazing and exhausting. The internship has been taking up a lot of my blogging time, and will continue to do so for 5 more weeks. My goal is to post at least once a week on Mommy In Progress, and once a day once my internship is over.
So bear with me! I have big plans for this blog, but it may take me a few months to implement them. For now, if you like my posts, you can read a lot more of them at Moms Talk Network.
And…again…YOU ROCK IF YOU’RE READING THIS!
