Erin and Devin (1 month old)
I’m a sometimes-clueless SAHM, just trying to figure out the hardest, most rewarding job I’ve ever had. I’m definitely a work-in-progress, and believe being honest with oneself and others is the best route to becoming a better mom and a better person.
Everything is bigger and better in Texas
My husband and I moved from California to Texas when I was pregnant with my son, Devin, who just turned two. Devin was such a difficult baby (um…and a bit of a difficult toddler), that I decided not to go back to work and haven’t looked back since. Being away from the helping hands of grandparents has been tough, but our little transplanted family loves soaking up the Austin heat and the famous Texan hospitality.
Becoming a SAHM has been the best thing I’ve ever done for my family and for myself. Trying to juggle working full-time while raising a family would’ve stressed me out in a big way, so to all you Supermoms out there, “YOU GO GIRL!” I bow down to you!
Why am I doing this blog thing?
Back in November, I had a miscarriage, which opened my eyes to the true importance of family, community, and following my passion. Now, with a new baby on the way (I’m out of the first trimester. Yay!), my creative juices are flowing, and I’m ready to start focusing on my writing dreams again. However, this time I want my writing to have a purpose in helping others.

Erin-Wow! You rock..
You rock, too, Jen!
